Band history

Pears was founded in 2014 by Zach Quinn (vocals), Brian Pretus (guitar), Erich Goodyear (bass) and Jarret Nathan (drums). The demo appeared shortly after their first rehearsals ... In Diapers . Her self-produced debut album Go to Prison was released in the same year . The band claimed it took 14 hours to write and about five weeks to record. The band caught the attention of the independent label Fat Wreck Chords, which the band signed. On July 24, 2015, a new edition of their debut album was released on the record label. In September 2015 the 7 '' single Letters to Memaw was released , limited to 425 copies.

On April 1, 2016, Green Star , the Pears' second album, was released. It was produced by Mike Supina , the guitarist of A Wilhelm Scream , and James Whitten, who had already produced the predecessor.

Music style and lyrics

Pears plays a mixture of 1980s hardcore punk in the style of their role models Descendents , 7 Seconds and Black Flag as well as skatepunk or melodycore in the style of NOFX and bouncing souls . Pears uses a rather humorous approach including allusions (so-called Easter Eggs ) to well-known bands in their genre. The music is fast and full of changes in tempo.
