The Pecatonica River is a right tributary of the Rock River in the US states of Wisconsin and Illinois .

The Pecatonica River has its source in hill country in Iowa County in southwest Wisconsin. It initially flows in a south-southeast direction past Darlington to Illinois. It flows through the city of Freeport and then turns east. It passes the place Pecatonica , takes the Sugar River on the left and finally flows into Rockton in the Rock River, a tributary of the Mississippi River. The Pecatonica River has a length of 312 km. It drains an area of ​​6753 km², of which 4690 km² are in Wisconsin.
