Style and meaning

One of Pedro Conga's most successful songs is "Si supieras", which was originally written by Willie Gonzales :

If you knew how much she means to me,
you would never ask me for what you want from me today
to leave your love, it is all for me
If you knew that it is the reason for my existence
That it is my hope and my happiness is
this is all i want, it is my freedom

If you knew how many times I cried on her shoulder
And in the silence heard her love for me
And that we shared our triumphs and defeats together
And it's like that she is my life, all that I need
And it is that she is the most important thing to me

If you could overcome that there is no point in insisting
That you must not confuse simple love with friendship That
I gave you all sincerity
If you could overcome that it is the reason for my existence
That it is my hope and mine Happiness is
that's all I want, it's my freedom
