Prince Pedro Gastão d'Orléans-Bragança , full name Pedro de Alcántara Gastão João Maria Filipe Lourenço Humberto Miguel Gabriel Rafael Gonzaga de Orléans e Bragança (born February 19, 1913 at Château d'Eu in Eu , Seine-Maritime department ; † 27. December 2007 in Villamanrique de la Condesa , Province of Seville ) was a member of the House of Orléans-Braganza .

Pedro Gastão was the eldest son of Prince Pedro de Alcantara d'Orléans-Bragança (1875-1940) and his wife, the Hungarian Countess Elisabeth Dobrženský von Dobrženitz (1875-1951). His paternal grandparents were Gaston d'Orléans, comte d'Eu and the Crown Princess Isabella of Brazil . He was a descendant of the citizen king Louis Philippe I and the Emperor Pedro II of Brazil .

Pedro Gastão d'Orléans-Bragança was considered to be the oldest living member of the French and Spanish Bourbons until his death. He was the uncle of the Spanish King Juan Carlos I , of Duarte Pio of Bragança , head of the royal house of Portugal , and of Diane Duchess of Württemberg .

Marriage and offspring

On December 18, 1944, Prince Pedro Gastão married Princess Maria de la Esperanza of Bourbon-Sicily (1914–2005), the youngest daughter of Infante Carlos Maria de Bourbon (1870–1949) and his wife Princess Louise Françoise Marie Laure d ' in Seville. Orleans (1882-1958). Six children emerged from the joint relationship:
