Pedro Luìs Baptista Moitinho de Almeida

Pedro Luìs Baptista Moitinho de Almeida (* in Lisbon ) is a diplomat from Portugal .

Life

Almeida was studying in the Faculty of Economics at the University of Lisbon when the Carnation Revolution took place on April 25, 1974. He then decided to go into the foreign service . After completing his training, he joined the diplomatic service in 1978.

After working at the embassies and consulates of Portugal in Greece (where he was chargé d' affaires and thus the representative of Portugal in Greece for some time between 1983 and 1984 ), the Cape Verde Islands, Macau, Barcelona and Hong Kong, he finally became the main ambassador himself . His first appointment came in 2000 when he became Portugal's first ambassador to East Timor .

From 2008 to 2013 he was Portuguese Ambassador to Canada .

He has been the Portuguese ambassador to Austria since April 2013 .
