Pedro Proença (artist)
Pedro Proença (* 1962 in Lubango , Angola ) is a Portuguese painter and writer .
Life
Pedro Proença studied painting at the Escola Superior de Belas-Artes in Lisbon until he graduated in 1986 . While still a student, he founded the Homeostético Movement in 1982 together with Fernando Brito , Ivo, Manuel João Vieira , Pedro Portugal and Xana (documented in 2008 by director Bruno de Almeida in the documentary 6 = 0 Homeostética ). Between 1983 and 1986 various exhibitions of this movement were organized ("Homeostética", "Um Labrego em Nova-Iorque" - A Bumpkin in New York, "Se em Portimão Houvesse Baleias" - What About Whales in Portimão, "Educação Espartana" - Spartan Education, “Continentes” - Continents) and manifestos, also written by Proença himself.
He had his first solo exhibition in 1984.
