Peeter Volkonski ( Russian Пётр Андреевич Волконский , Pjotr ​​Andrejewitsch Volkonski ; born September 12, 1954 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian actor, rock musician and composer.

Volkonski comes from the Estonian branch of the Russian princely Rurikid family Volkonski . His great-grandfather was a brother of Sergei Mikhailovich Volkonsky . His father Andrei Michailowitsch Volkonski was known as a harpsichordist , composer and promoter of early music , his mother is the poet Helvi Jürisson (born October 5, 1928).

After studying at the Estonian Music Academy in Tallinn, he worked as an actor in various films and from 1980 was the singer of the punk rock band Propeller . His version of the song Mis maa see on ( What kind of country is this? ), Originally for Siiri Sisask , has become particularly well known. In 2001 he was awarded the Order of the White Star , 5th grade (Knight's Cross).
