Peggy Noonan
Margaret Ellen "Peggy" Noonan (born September 7, 1950 in Brooklyn , New York City ) is an American book and bestselling author and columnist who primarily writes for the Wall Street Journal .
She wrote speeches for the US President Ronald Reagan and was one of his assistants. Noonan can be described as a Republican by her political writings . She was instrumental in the election of George Bush participated as US president, as its known campaign slogan " Read my lips: no new taxes " (Eng. " Take my word for it: no new taxes ") comes from her.
In 2017 she received the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary . Noonan has received several honorary doctorates.
