Pekka Saravo (born November 13, 1979 in Rovaniemi ) is a former Finnish ice hockey player who was last under contract with Tappara Tampere in the Liiga .

Career

Pekka Saravo began his career as a hockey player in the youth of the Finnish first division club Tappara Tampere , in which he was active until 1998. He then made his debut in I divisioona for Diskos Jyväskylä in the 1998/99 season . He then returned to Tappara, for which he first appeared in the SM-liiga in the 2000/01 season. With his team, the defender was runner-up in 2001 and 2002 and won the championship with the team in 2003 .

In the summer of 2005 Saravo moved to other European countries for the first time, where he received a contract with Luleå HF in the Swedish Elitserien , for which he was on the ice for the following three seasons. Before the 2008/09 season , the Finn was obliged by their league rivals Linköpings HC , for whom he played in all four group games of the newly founded Champions Hockey League and scored a goal this season.

For the 2009/10 season Saravo returned one more time to his home club Tappara Tampere in the SM-liiga.

International

For Finland , Saravo took part in the 2005 , 2006 and 2007 World Championships .
