D-Kiekko (formerly JYP-Akatemia and Diskos ) is a Finnish ice hockey club from Jyväskylä founded in 1974 as Jyväskylän Lohi . The first team played the Mestis until 2017 and played their home games in the LähiTapiola Areena . Since then, the club has been represented by the former second team in the Suomi-sarja .

The club was founded in 1974 as Jyväskylän Lohi and was called Diskos Jyväskylä from 1993 . The team took part for the first time in the 1995/96 season in the I-divisioona , the then second highest Finnish division, but rose in the first season. In the following season , the team succeeded in the immediate rise. From the 2000/01 season , the team took part in the new second division, the Mestis . From this, the team rose in the 2001/02 season in the third-class Suomi-sarja . In 2004 the club was renamed D-Kiekko . It was not until the 2007/08 season that the team managed to return to the Mestis as third division champions, in which they have since established themselves. Associated with the rise was the renaming to D-Team .

From 2008 the association worked closely with the large city neighbor JYP Jyväskylä from the SM-liiga and acted as his farm team . From 2011 the first team was called JYP-Akatemia, based on the SM-liiga team, while the second team and the junior division continued to compete as Diskos Jyväskylä , from 2015 again as D-Kiekko .

In 2017, the first team from the Mestis relegated to the Suomi-sarja, after which the team was stopped. Some of the players then switched to the former second team (named D-Kiekko ) and continued playing with them in the Suomi-sarja.
