Juha-Pekka Hytönen (born May 22, 1981 in Jyväskylä ) is a Finnish ice hockey player who has been under contract with EHC Linz in the ICE Hockey League since August 2020 .
Career
Juha-Pekka Hytönen began his career in the youth of JYP Jyväskylä , for whose professional team he made his debut in the SM-liiga in the 2000/01 season . In this season he also came on three missions for Diskos Jyväskylä from the second-class Mestis . In the summer of 2002, the attacker moved to the second division team Jukurit Mikkeli , with whom he won the Mestis championship in the 2002/03 season. After only one year he returned to JYP Jyväskylä, for whom he has been on the ice ever since. With JYP he won the Finnish championship title for the first time in the 2008/09 season . At the end of the following season he finished third in the championship with JYP, before winning his second championship title with the team in 2012.
In May 2012 Hytönen was signed by Amur Khabarovsk and is playing abroad for the first time in his career. In July 2013, the Finn signed a two-year deal with Lausanne HC of the National League A . He also spent the 2015/16 season in Lausanne before he decided in April 2016 to return to his home club JYP for the 2016/17 season.
International
For Finland , Hytönen took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 1999 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2001 . He was also in Finland's squad at the 2009 and 2010 World Championships and in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 at the Euro Hockey Tour .
