David Kickert (born March 16, 1994 in Korneuburg ) is an Austrian ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with EHC Linz in the Austrian ice hockey league since April 2018 .
Career
Kickert had been in the Vienna Capitals squad since 2011 and was used for the first time in a game of the Austrian Ice Hockey League (ÖEHL) on October 11, 2013 . In the 2016/17 season he was the goalkeeper with the highest number of catches in the EBEL with a catch rate of 93.3% and also had the best goalscoring average with 1.86. He was then elected EBEL YoungStar of the season. In addition, he won the Austrian championship title with the Capitals , where he was used in three of the four finals.
In May 2017, the EC VSV signed David Kickert for the 2017/18 season.
In February 2018 David Kickert was awarded back to the caps.
For the 2018/19 season, the EHC Linz announced the commitment of David Kickert.
International
In the junior division, Kickert first took part in the U18 World Championship 2012 in Division I. With the Austrian U20 team , he also played in Division I at the 2013 and 2014 World Championships when he was voted the best player of the tournament.
He made his debut in the men's national team in the 3-2 defeat after extra time in a friendly on April 10, 2014 against Slovenia in Vienna . He was then part of the Alpine team in Division I at the 2016 and 2017 World Championships , but was never used. On the other hand, he made three appearances in the Olympic qualification for the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang , in which the Austrians only achieved third place behind Germany and the host at the tournament in Riga, Latvia , and thus missed the Olympic qualification.

- 2017 Best catch quota, lowest goals against (both main round and playoffs) as well as EBEL-YoungStar of the Austrian ice hockey league
- 2017 Promotion to the top division at the World Championship of Division I, Group A.
- 2017 EBEL YoungStar of the 2016/17 season
