Source region nature reserve on Scheitenberger Weg

The source region nature reserve on Scheitenberger Weg with a size of 2.6 hectares is located south of Gevelinghausen in the urban area of Olsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2004 with the Olsberg landscape plan .

Area description

The NSG is a source area with wet pasture and alder forest.

Protection purpose

In the NSG, the source area there is to be protected with wet pasture and alder forest. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
