Quellsiepen nature reserve in the Reimecke

The Quellsiepen nature reserve in the Reimecke with a size of 3.6  hectares is located north of Brunskappel in the urban area of Olsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2004 with the Olsberg landscape plan .

Area description

The NSG is a red beech forest with seepage springs and a spring trickle. There is an alder and ash forest on a small scale.

Protection purpose

In the NSG, the forest there is to be protected with a spring trickle. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
