Wiedegge nature reserve

The Wiedegge nature reserve with a size of 2.5  hectares is located south of Helmeringhausen in the urban area of Olsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2004 with the Olsberg landscape plan .

Area description

The NSG is the red beech forest with rocks up to 3.5 m high. The forest is located on the Wiedegge mountain .

Protection purpose

The forest area in the NSG is to be protected. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
