Kahlenberg nature reserve

The nature reserve Kahlenberg with a size of 14.4  hectares is located east of Brunskappel in the urban area of Olsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2004 with the Olsberg landscape plan .

Area description

When NSG is a beech forest on the western slopes of the Kahlenberg with diabase - rocks .

Protection purpose

The forest there is to be protected in the NSG. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
