from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nature reserve Hölzerner Peter with a size of 35.1  ha is located east of Antfeld in the urban area of Olsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis . It begins on the outskirts of Antfeld and goes east to the city limits. The Altenbürener Steinberg nature reserve begins directly behind the city limits of Brilon . In 1990 the Arnsberg district government designated the area as a nature reserve (NSG). In 2004, the area was again designated as a NSG by the Hochsauerlandkreis with the Olsberg landscape plan.

Area description

The NSG is the western part of the local Diabas rock band . There are block heaps in front of the ledge. In the NSG there are rocks up to ten meters high. In the NSG there are predominantly beeches . The tree species sycamore and mountain ash are mixed in.

Protection purpose

The forest area is to be protected in the NSG. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
