from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nature reserve Oberes Schlebornbachtal with a size of 45.3  hectares is located in the Upper Arnsberg Forest southeast of Grimlinghausen in the urban area of Olsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2004 with the Olsberg landscape plan . The north-west of the NSG borders directly on the Tief Hohl - Kottensiepen (Olsberg) nature reserve .

Area description

The NSG is the Schlebornbach and the forest. The forest consists of red beech forest with rocks up to 4 m high, and there are also small areas of wet forests.

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the stream and the forest and their inventory of species.

As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
