The LähiTapiola Areena is an ice rink in the center of the central Finnish university and capital of the province of Central Finland Jyväskylä . The venue of the ice hockey club JYP Jyväskylä , which plays in the Finnish Liiga , has 4,618 seats (3,006 of which are seats).
history
The ice rink, opened in 1982, originally had a capacity of 4,812 spectators. Renovation work was carried out in 2003, with the capacity dropping to 4,500. Further construction work was carried out during the 2007/08 season, with the capacity again falling to 4,180 spectators. In addition, the local energy supplier could be won as a name sponsor for the ice rink. In the summer of 2009 an extension was carried out and since its completion there has been space for 4,618 spectators.
Events
Outside the ice hockey season, the hall is used for trade fair purposes , concerts and special events such as vehicle presentations. The following artists have already performed in the hall:
