action

Young Edson lives in a poor neighborhood. His father is Dondinho, a former soccer player for the Brazilian national team. However, many look down on him because he was there at the time of the great defeat against Uruguay (see the 1950 World Cup final ).

Edson is called more and more by the children under the name Pelé and is even promoted to the Brazilian national team after he was discovered by FC Santos . His soccer style Ginga , based on Capoeira , has brought him a lot of criticism, but his willpower pays off.

After tough games against Austria and France, Pelé is used as the new hope for the final, in the position of the injured "Mazzola". Pelé becomes the celebrated star of the World Cup, as the youngest ever player, as a colored man, and seals the victory over Sweden in a 5-2 win with 3 goals.

criticism

"Sunny biography without depth."
