Penny Hunt

Penny Hunt (actually Penelope Christine Hunt, nee Haworth; born January 18, 1948 in Timaru ) is a former New Zealand sprinter .

In 1969 she won silver over 100 m and bronze over 200 m at the Pacific Conference Games . The following year she was eighth over 200 m at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in 1970 and was eliminated over 100 m in the semifinals.

At the 1972 Olympic Games, she reached the quarter-finals over 400 m .

In 1974 she was at the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch seventh over 400 m and fifth in the 4-by-400-meter relay .

At the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton in 1978 , she was fourth in the 4-by-100-meter relay . Over 200 m she was eliminated in the preliminary run and over 400 m in the semi-finals.

She was New Zealand champion three times over 100 yards or 100 m (1969, 1970, 1975), six times over 220 yards or 200 m (1966, 1968-1971, 1975) and five times over 440 yards or 400 m (1968, 1971 , 1976, 1978, 1981).
