The Central European private equity company Penta Investments was founded in 1994. The Penta Investments sro is based in Prague . Penta came into public coverage in 2011/2012 in connection with the gorilla affair .

history

In spring 2012, Penta was considered the only serious prospect in the insolvent Schlecker retail chain . However, there was no takeover. More than 60 employees of the Slovak newspaper SME quit in 2014 because half of its publishing house was taken over by the billion-dollar Penta Group. The journalists accuse Penta of corruption. They fear a restriction in the variety of media.

In the 2015 financial year, Penta achieved a consolidated net profit of 200 million euros and increased total portfolio assets to 7 billion euros. The German Penta Investments GmbH , based in Munich, announced its dissolution in the commercial register in October 2017.

In summer 2017, the Czech Ministry of the Environment gave the green light for the expansion of Vodochody Airport ( IATA code VOD) by the investor Penta. The airport is to be expanded for low-cost airlines and private airlines. DPP and Penta Investments are planning a joint venture to buy land for the construction of Prague's D metro line .
