Pepi Scherfler
Josef "Pepi" Scherfler (* 1933 in Mauerkirchen , Upper Austria; † April 24, 2010 ) was an Austrian musician, arranger and composer .
Scherfler was born in the family of an innkeeper and military musician in the Innviertel . He learned the piano , double bass , accordion and tuba and made a name for himself from the 1960s, especially in the Munich light music scene, where he became known to a wide audience through the musical accompaniment of the ZDF television series Königlich Bayerisches Amtsgericht . Scherfler's main interest was later on the light music of the first half of the 20th century, especially the music of the operetta composer Franz Lehár . After the renovation of the Heilig-Geistkirche in his home parish of Mauerkirchen , he donated one of the two new bells in 1984.
Pepi Scherfler lived and worked in Mauerkirchen , Munich and Simbach am Inn .
