Per-Anton Lundström (born September 29, 1977 in Umeå ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Malmö Redhawks in HockeyAllsvenskan until 2011 .

Career

The right defender began his professional career in the fourth Swedish division, Division II, at Tegs SK. After just one year, he switched to the Swedish first division club MoDo Hockey in 1994 . There he first played for the junior team before he was used a total of 25 times in the Elitserien in the 1995/96 season. Through his shown performance in Örnsköldsvik , some scouts from the National Hockey League became aware of the left-handed shooter. During the NHL Entry Draft in 1996 , those responsible for the Phoenix Coyotes secured the rights to Lundström and selected him in the third round in a total of 62nd position.

After another season at MoDo, he moved to IF Björklöven in the summer of 1997 . There the defensive player was able to score 26 points in 90 league games. For the 1999/00 season he decided to change and signed a contract with AIK Ishockey , where he immediately belonged to the regular squad. Finally, the management of the famous Swedish club Djurgårdens IF became aware of him and made him a contract offer, which he accepted. Lundström received a one-year contract that was not renewed.

This was followed by a short interlude at IF Björklöven, for which he was already active between 1997 and 1999, before he joined the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg during the 2003/04 season. With the Wolfsburg he was promoted to the German Ice Hockey League in the same year . In the following season he and his team managed to keep the class.

In 2005 he moved to Italy to play for SG Bruneck . However, only a few months later he returned to his home country Sweden and signed a contract with Skellefteå AIK . For the Italian club SG Bruneck, he only played 20 games and scored seven times. In the 2008/09 season he was at Leksands IF in the HockeyAllsvenskan under contract. In the following two years he played one season each for the second division IF Björklöven and Malmö Redhawks . He has been without a club since then.
