Per sonata

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Per-Sonat , in its own spelling PER-SONAT , is an ensemble founded in 2008 by the mezzo-soprano Sabine Lutzenberger and the transverse flutist Norbert Rodenkirchen , specializing in the performance of medieval music. The ensemble emerged from a joint music project between the two founders for Heinrich von Meissen's Taugenhort . The name of the ensemble stands for being tinted through and is inspired by the reading of St. Augustine .

The size of the ensemble varies between two and eight members depending on the respective program and repertoire. The intention in performances is on the one hand "on an interpretation based on the original sources, on the other hand on an exciting, vital and well-founded interpretation of medieval poetry." Authentic playing techniques, historical improvisation and instrumental accompaniment are imaginatively incorporated into the performance. The ensemble tries to introduce the listener and concert-goer into the context of medieval music, "which is so strongly linked to religion, philosophy and poetry".

The ensemble has performed in many European countries (including France, Holland, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Poland and Germany) at festivals for early music such as the Festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht, the Festival montalbâne in Freyburg an der Unstrut, the Festival du Thoronet , the Laus Polyphoniae in Antwerp or the Days of Early Music in Regensburg.

The ensemble has recorded seven CDs on the Christopherus label since 2008 .
