Per Kristian Nygård (born July 12, 1987 ) is a Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Nygård made his debut in the Scandinavian Cup in January 2007 in Sjusjøen , where he finished 72nd in the 15 km mass start race in classical technique and 120 place in the 10 km freestyle. In January 2010 he was eighth in Åsarna over 20 km freestyle, which meant his first point placement . In January 2012 Nygård was fourth in Nes over 15 km freestyle. His third and fourth top ten placement in the Scandinavian Cup came in February 2013 when he finished sixth in the Jõulumäe sprint and eighth in the 30 km freestyle mass start race in Inari . In March 2013 Nygård started in Oslo in the World Cup , where he finished 60th in the 50 km freestyle mass start race. In the 2014/15 season he achieved sixth place in the Scandinavian Cup in the 30 km mass start race in classic technique in Lillehammer , ninth place in the 15 km freestyle and sixth in the skiathlon in Falun, three further placements below the top ten. In January 2016 Nygård won the 15 km freestyle in Östersund . In the same month he got his first World Cup points in Nové Město with the 21st place over 15 km freestyle. At the end of the season he was fourth in the overall ranking of the Scandinavian Cup.
