Per Leegaard (born July 15, 1982 in Thisted ) is a former Danish handball player who was mostly used as a right backcourt player .

The 1.93 m tall and 93 kg heavy left-hander began his professional career with the Danish team Tvis Holstebro . With Viborg HK he reached the round of 16 in the 2005/06 EHF Cup and the group stage in the 2007/08 EHF Champions League . In November 2009 he moved to Skjern Håndbold . In the final of the Danish championship in 2011, he tore a muscle fiber in his stomach, which led to bleeding and damage to tendons. After a year of rehabilitation, Leegaard announced the end of his career in March 2012.

In the Danish national team , Per Leegaard made his debut on November 20, 2004 against Finland and until 2008 played 35 international matches , in which he scored 102 goals. At the European Championship in 2006 and the World Championship in 2007 , he won the bronze medal.
