Percy Hoven

Percy Hoven (born February 20, 1965 in Munich ) is a former German radio and television presenter .

Life

After graduating from college in St. Blasien , Hoven completed an apprenticeship as a banker at Bayerische Hypotheken und Wechselbank . He then studied philosophy and economics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and media marketing at the Bavarian Academy of Advertising in Munich. He received his journalistic training at Bayerischer Rundfunk .

Percy Hoven came into contact with the entertainment industry through his father, the actor, director and film producer Adrian Hoven , as a child: He was involved in his two witch films in 1969 and 1972. After completing his training, he worked as a television, radio and event presenter for various broadcasters and companies, as well as a voice actor. He achieved national fame in 2000 as the presenter of the first Big Brother season on German television. At the end of 2004, Hoven turned his back on television. Since then he has been running a portrait painting studio in Munich.

In 2014 he moderated the Augsburg Press Ball. Since 2015 he has been running rhetoric courses for the Swiss ZfU International Business School .

Percy Hoven is married to the presenter Silvia Laubenbacher . The couple lives in Bobingen with their two children .

"Dr. Alfons Proebstl "

Percy Hoven appeared on his own YouTube channel, without revealing his identity, in the role of Dr. Alfons Proebstl . In this role he represented, according to the Augsburger Allgemeine, in an allegedly satirical form, "right-wing extremist positions", the moderator and DJ Matthias Matuschik assigned his statements to the "brown swamp". Matuschik already had Hoven on September 9, 2015 as Dr. Proebstl identified. Die Zeit writes that Hoven spread "xenophobic resentments".

As a Proebstl, Hoven also appeared at the Russia conference in November 2014, which was organized by the magazine, which was peculiarly free , and also at a Pegida event in spring 2015.

The identity behind the character of Dr. Alfons Proebstl remained secret until the beginning of October 2015 the Augsburger Allgemeine Zeitung published an article according to which the actor was Percy Hoven, who had made himself unrecognizable with a rubber mask. He admitted to the newspaper that as Dr. Proebstl had occurred and announced the end of the figure.
