Petar Beron ( Bulgarian Петър Берон ; * around 1800 in Kotel ; † March 21, 1871 in Craiova ) was a Bulgarian scientist, publicist and doctor. He is known as the "Bulgarian Leibniz ".

Life

Petar Beron attended a Greek school in Bucharest . He first studied at the philosophical faculty of the University of Heidelberg and finished his studies at the medical faculty of the University of Munich with a doctorate in gynecology . He wrote the primer with various teachings , which is also called The Fish Primer , because the cover has a picture of a dolphin. The textbook was published in Kronstadt in 1824 with the support of local Bulgarian emigrants. It is the first Bulgarian textbook to be written in an Eastern Bulgarian dialect typical of the author's hometown . During the development of the New Bulgarian language , Petar Beron, like Wasil Aprilow and Najden Gerow, regarded the Eastern Bulgarian dialects as the basis for the formation of a uniform written language. The textbook is intended both for the work of the teacher and for students.

The book comprises 140 pages, on which prayers, stories and fables, the alphabet, natural history as well as grammatical and arithmetic rules are explained. The foreword recommends the pedagogical method of mutual, mutual teaching, which was popular in Europe at the time. With its methodological instructions for teachers, it also embodies the beginning of Bulgarian pedagogy.

Another work is the book Slavic Philosophy, published in German in Prague in 1855, containing the fundamentals of all natural and moral sciences together with an appendix on free will and the immortality of the soul .

His main work is the seven-volume Panépistémie .
