Peter-Alexis Albrecht (born October 12, 1946 in Hanover ) is a German lawyer and criminologist .

Life

Albrecht studied law and social sciences in Göttingen . In 1977 he finished his studies and received his doctorate . From 1977 to 1991 Albrecht researched and taught at the universities of Munich and Bielefeld (1983–1991). In 1991 he moved to the University of Frankfurt . Since then, he has held a chair in criminal law and criminology at the Institute for Criminal Science and Legal Philosophy there. From 1995 he was also dean of the law faculty for two years. On April 1, 2012, Peter-Alexis Albrecht retired.

Albrecht has been a member of the group of editors and the editor of the critical quarterly journal for legislation and jurisprudence since 1986 . He is one of the two board members of Dr. Walter and Margarete Cajewitz Foundation .

Awards

In 2004 Albrecht was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon for his longstanding social commitment . Since 2005, Peter-Alexis Albrecht has also been an honorary professor at the Odessa National Marine University . In 2016, Albrecht was awarded an honorary doctorate from the National Legal Yaroslav of the Wise University of Kharkiv , (Ukraine).
