Peter-Erwin Jansen

Peter-Erwin Jansen (* 1957 in Zell ) is a German publicist and social scientist .

Life

Jansen studied philosophy , sociology , German and politics in Frankfurt am Main a . a. with Jürgen Habermas . In the mid-1980s, Jansen was both in the editorial team of the review magazine LISTEN (Frankfurt / Main) and in the editorial team of the socialist monthly magazine on the left of the socialist office in Offenbach . Together with Gerhard Krum, he was the responsible editor there from 1987 to 1992. As a lecturer for sociology and gerontology , he taught from 2004 to 2013 at the geriatric nursing school of the Martin Luther Foundation in Hanau and has been teaching at the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, as a “teacher for special tasks to convey the practical implementation and application of social science concepts ". In 2013 he held a substitute professorship there for “Social Science Basics in Social Work”.

Jansen conducted interviews and discussions with prisoners in the death prison in Huntsville , Texas. These and other topics about American society were published in the volume Streiflichter aus Amerika . Jansen also publishes selected writings from the estate of Herbert Marcuse and Leo Löwenthal . Jansen is responsible for the estates of Herbert Marcuse and Leo Löwenthal, both journalistically and legally as the representative of the estate owners. He is also a member of the board of directors of the International Herbert Marcuse Society , which since 2013 has received the official status of a "non-profit organization" based in Philadelphia.
