Peter Bläser

Peter Bläser (born July 28, 1910 in Löntrop , † September 4, 1994 in Arnsberg ) was a German Catholic theologian .

Life

After graduating from school, he entered the Missionary Order of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and was ordained a priest in 1937. 1940 followed his doctorate to Dr. theol. at the University of Münster with the thesis "The Law at Paulus" (Aschendorff, Münster 1941). He initially lectured at the Ordenshochschule in Oeventrop , then from 1958 to 1982 at the Johann Adam Möhler Institute in Paderborn , where he was first section head and later managing director. In 1960 he became associate professor for ecumenical theology at the Theological Faculty in Paderborn and on March 31, 1982 he retired.

A high point of his work were the "Questions of a Catholic Christian to the Evangelical Church", which were published in various magazines in 1966/1967 and served as the prelude to the ecumenical dialogue after the Second Vatican Council . They were taken up by many and paved the way for the discourse that followed.
