Peter Blecher

Peter Blecher (born February 3, 1934 in Hagen ; † August 27, 2008 there ) was a German sports shooter. The specialist in trap took part in the Olympic Games twice.

Blecher worked as an independent businessman and manufacturer in Hagen, in his free time he did motocross and was active as a small-bore shooter. In 1969 he found throwing pigeon shooting and quickly caught up with the German top in this sport. In 1971 he won gold with the German team at the World Championships in Bologna and silver at the European Championships in Suhl . In 1972 Blecher took part in the Olympic Games in Munich and came in 26th there.

In 1972 Blecher was still active for the Grobe Sau Hagen club , but later founded the Westfalenland litter club in Münster . At the end of the 1970s he won German championships, and from 1978 to 1984 he won six championship titles. In 1984 Blecher achieved second place behind the Spaniard Ricardo Sancho at the European Championships in Saragossa with a German record of 198 out of 200 possible targets . At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , Blecher finished 28th.

From 1991 to 1997 Blecher officiated at the German Shooting Federation as a federal advisor for throwing pigeon sport. In 1993 he was awarded the DSB's Golden Cross of Honor.
