Peter Boch

Peter Boch (* 29. April 1980 in Waldshut ) is a German politician of the CDU and since August 1, 2017 Mayor of Baden-Wuerttemberg city Pforzheim . Before that, he was mayor of the Epfendorf community .

Life

He completed his secondary school leaving certificate in 1996 at the primary and secondary school in Stuttgart-Gablenberg . As a schoolboy he received ballet training from 1991 at the John Cranko School in Stuttgart, then from 1996 to 1997 in Munich at the Heinz Bosl Foundation .

From 1998 to 2001 he was trained as a police officer in Göppingen and worked in various positions at the Stuttgart police until 2011, in particular as a clerk and in personal protection.

Boch is married and has three children. He is Roman Catholic and is active in several associations.

politics

Boch was Mayor of Epfendorf from 2011 to 2017. On May 7, 2017, he was elected Lord Mayor of Pforzheim with 51.5 percent of the votes in the first ballot, defeating incumbent Gert Hager ( SPD ). His agenda includes a. security, debt reduction, and education and family.

The AfD's declaration that it would support Boch in the election caused controversy during the election campaign. He subsequently stated that he wanted to seek a conversation with the AfD, but that he refused to focus on its content.
