Peter Braun (politician, 1941)
Peter Braun (born September 9, 1941 in Singen ) is a German local politician. He became first mayor of the former municipality of Germering in 1974 . From 1991 he was again First Mayor of the city of Germering, since October 1, 2004, Lord Mayor of the city of Germering, which has been elevated to a major district town. In the 2008 local elections, he did not run again.
biography
Braun grew up first in Konstanz , then in Munich . He studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich from 1960 and received his doctorate there in 1968. He then worked from 1969 to 1974 as a public prosecutor and judge . From 1978 to 1986 he was a judge at the Munich District Court I.
politics
In 1971 Braun joined the SPD . In 1972 he was elected to the Germering municipal council for the first time . From 1974 to 1978 he was first mayor of the Germering community for the SPD; from 1974 until today he has been a member of the Fürstenfeldbruck district council . From 1986 to 1991 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament . From 1991 to 2008 he was again First Mayor or Lord Mayor of Germering.
