Peter Bukowski

Peter Bukowski (born June 9, 1950 in Bonn ) is a German Protestant Reformed theologian. From 1990 to 2015 he was the moderator of the Reformed League .

Life

After graduating from the Beethovengymnasium in Bonn, Bukowski studied Protestant theology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Kirchliche Hochschule Berlin and musicology at the University of Cologne and the Free University of Berlin . He finished his studies in 1975 with the First Theological Examination. After a two-year vicariate, he successfully passed the second theological exam in 1977. From 1984 to 1989 he trained as a psychotherapist in Düsseldorf .

Bukowski has been a lecturer in homiletics , liturgy and poimenics since 1978 , initially at the former Reformed Preachers' Seminary in Elberfeld , and since 1999 as director of the seminar for pastoral training at the Wuppertal Theological Center . From 1990 to 2015 he was honorary moderator (chairman) of the Reformed Federation of Reformed Churches in Germany.

Bukowski was a member of the executive committee (later council) of the Leuenberg Church Fellowship from 2001 to 2012 . Like the 10th Synod in 2003–2009, he is a member of the 11th Synod of the Evangelical Church in Germany .

Peter Bukowski, who holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Reformed Theology in Debrecen in Hungary , is married to the Wuppertal pastor Sylvia Bukowski. Bukowski was for many years director of the Colorful Grace choir of the Ev. Parish Unterbarmen in Wuppertal. On his initiative, the Community of Evangelical Churches in Europe (CPCE) published the ecumenical songbook "Colors of Grace" with over 150 songs. In 2015, Bukowski retired.
