Peter Dingens

Peter Dingens (born August 3, 1935 in Hamm ) is a former German ambassador .

Life

Peter Dingens studied economics and completed a master's degree at the College of Europe in 1960/61 . He joined the foreign service in 1965 . He was accredited to the Consulate General in Chicago in 1965 . In 1969 Dingens was a press officer at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Moscow. In this function he was represented by Henning von Wistinghausen .

On February 14, 1974 Dingens greeted the expelled Alexander Solzhenitsyn at Frankfurt Airport in Russian, which irritated him a little, as he had doubts about the place of arrival. On February 15, 1974 Dingens reported on Alexander Isayevich Solzhenitsyn.

Dingens was the German ambassador to Mexico from 1990 to 1994 . During his term of office there, the double taxation agreement with Mexico for the Federal Republic of Germany was signed on February 23, 1993.

From 1998 to 2000 Dingens was the German ambassador to Egypt . On August 27, 2000 Dingens had an audience with Atif Abaid .

Dingens was the Federal Government Commissioner in Bonn for the Near and Middle East. In 2000 Peter Dingens was retired. Peter Dingens is an employee of the German Orient Institute and a member of the supervisory board of the Near and Middle East Association .
