Peter Duncan (born July 25, 1944 in Sherbrooke ) is a retired Canadian ski racer . He was a member of the Canadian national ski team from 1960 to 1971. In his career he was four times Canadian national champion.
Duncan made the jump to the Canadian ski team at the age of 16. In 1964 he represented his country for the first time at the Winter Olympics in Innsbruck . He started in all three races. The best result was 19th place in the slalom . At his second Olympic participation in Grenoble in 1968 he was, meanwhile, the captain of the national ski team, as the best Canadian 18th in giant slalom , in the downhill he was eliminated. In the last few years of his career he competed in a few world cup races held on the American continent and placed four times in the top ten. In 1970 he was seventh in combination at the World Championships in Val Gardena .
When he retired from the national team, Duncan received the John Semmelink Memorial Award for his fairness, demeanor and talent, with which he represented Canada in international competitions in the best possible way . In 1986 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Canada Ski Museum .
Duncan was seen after his active career as a commentator on ski broadcasts on Canadian television.
