Peter Fischer (born February 25, 1954 in Oberstdorf ) is a former German ski racer .

Peter Fischer was a member of SC Oberstdorf . His first points in the World Cup ski he won on March 9, 1975 in Jackson Hole in Wyoming , when he at Exit victory of Franz Klammer was in eighth place second best German, Michael Veith was on the second stage of the Stockerls. In the combinations of Kitzbühel and Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1976 he made it into the top ten. This secured him the nomination for the 1976 Olympic Games in Innsbruck . He was used in the downhill and finished fifteen in Klammer's Olympic victory as the best German. In the 1976/77 season , a further seven top ten placements in the World Cup followed, both in combination and downhill. He achieved his best results in March in Heavenly Valley , California , when he finished fourth in the first descent and the day after reached third place in the second descent, thus celebrating his first podium. At the end of the season that meant tenth place in the Downhill World Cup and 23rd place in the overall ranking. After this winter, however, Fischer no longer made it into the World Cup points. Nevertheless, he was nominated for the 1978 Alpine World Ski Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where he finished fifteenth in downhill skiing. In 1976 he was German runner-up in downhill skiing. Peter Fischer has been chairman of the Garmisch ski club since 2006 and was a member of the management committee for the 2011 Alpine World Ski Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
