Peter Gautschi (* 1959 in Zofingen ) is a Swiss history teacher .

Peter Gautschi received his diploma as a primary and secondary school teacher in 1979 . He then studied history, German and Romance languages at the universities of Zurich and Neuchâtel and graduated in 1983 with a diploma as a district teacher . Between 1979 and 2004 he taught at all levels of elementary school . At the same time, he continued his education as a history didactician and from 1989 worked as a lecturer for history didactics and as head of practical teaching training at the Aargau University of Education. In 2009 Gautschi received his doctorate from the University of Kassel . From 2002 to 2009 he was also head of the secondary level I institute at the Aargau University of Education / Northwestern Switzerland, where he was appointed professor for history didactics in 2003. From 2009 to 2011 he held the professorship for didactics of social sciences and its disciplines at the FHNW University of Education . In 2011, Peter Gautschi took a reputation as a professor of history and history teaching at the PH Lucerne on. He was commissioned to set up an institute for history didactics and cultures of remembrance in Lucerne , which opened in September 2012 and which he has headed since then.
