Peter Gruber (born September 7, 1952 in Munich ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Gruber was a defender in the Bundesliga squad of FC Bayern Munich from 1976 to 1980 . He only made his Bundesliga debut in the second half of the season, on January 15, 1977 (18th matchday), when FC Bayern Munich only managed a goalless draw at Fortuna Düsseldorf . He played all second round matches - except for the 31st matchday - and scored his first Bundesliga goal on February 5, 1977 (21st matchday), which meant the 1-0 home game against Hertha BSC in the 83rd minute .

The number of his appearances decreased steadily from season to season, but he still managed to score another Bundesliga goal. On May 19, 1979 (32nd matchday), in the 2: 4 defeat in the away game against 1. FC Nürnberg , he succeeded in this with the goal to make it 2: 3 in the 77th minute. He was also used in two games for the DFB Cup , two games in the European Cup and in six games in the UEFA Cup . On September 28, 1977 he scored in the first round of the UEFA Cup competition, in the second leg at the Norwegian first division club Mjøndalen IF , in the 4-0 win, the goal to the interim 2-0 in the 52nd minute.
