Peter Habicht

Peter Habicht (born January 5, 1959 ) is a Swiss historian .

Life

Peter Habicht, son of mathematics professor Walter Habicht (1915–1998), began studying English and German in 1980 at the University of Basel , which he broke off in 1985 without a degree. 1984–1990 he worked as a taxi driver in Basel. In between, 1986/1987, he graduated from the École Jacques Lecoq (theater school) in Paris . 1990–2009 he worked as a tour guide for “Basel Tourismus”.

As a working student , he completed a history and art history course at the University of Basel from 1992–1999 , which he completed with a licentiate thesis on the wall paintings by Hans Holbein the Younger in the Grand Council Chamber of the Basel City Hall . Since 2000 he has worked as an author, city guide, speaker, exhibition curator, inventor and translator. He has published several popular science books on Basel history and culture in German and English, he has also written articles for exhibition catalogs and has meanwhile also worked for a kind of consulting agency.
