Peter Hafftiz
Peter Hafftiz (* 1525 in Jüterbog ; † May 28, 1601 in Berlin ) was a German teacher and chronicler .
Life
Peter Hafftiz attended the Zinna monastery school from 1538 and then the Pirna city school until 1545 . He studied at the University of Frankfurt (Oder) and then taught from 1550 in Berlin at the schools Sankt Nicolai and Sankt Marien , where he became rector in 1560. In 1564 he acquired the citizenship of Berlin. In 1577 he was appointed rector of the Cölln city school . After giving up this post three years later, he devoted himself to historical studies and publications.
