Peter Hahn (association official)

Peter Hahn (born October 1, 1947 in Heidelberg ) is a German lawyer and association manager.

Life

Peter Hahn grew up in the Eifel , where he attended elementary school in Daun and then the St. Matthias Gymnasium in Gerolstein and the state advanced high school in Daun. After studying law at the Universities of Heidelberg and Bonn , he passed the second state examination in 1976 in Düsseldorf . He also attended the University of Administrative Sciences Speyer . From 1975 to 1976 he worked as a research assistant for a member of the Bundestag and Parliamentary State Secretary. In 1976 he was admitted to the bar and has been working as a freelance lawyer ever since.

In 2013, Peter Hahn, as General Manager of the German Brewers' Association, warned of the consequences of fracking for energy generation for the German purity law . For the German brewing industry he created the slogan "Europe is our beer" to draw attention to the importance of the European Community .

In the course of his professional activity, Peter Hahn was repeatedly chairman of committees and member of executive committees at the European level. Since 2012 he has been treasurer of the European Movement Germany . In addition, he is a member of the advisory board of the Heinrich Riemerschmid Foundation and a board member of the German Society for Association Management . Until the end of 2016, he was chairman of the Association for the Promotion of the Research Center for European and German Food and Feed Law at the University of Marburg . In December 2017 he was elected President of the German Society for Association Management .
