Peter Heilrath (born April 2, 1969 in Munich ) is a German film producer , lawyer and politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

Life

Peter Heilrath grew up in Munich , Gilching , Bern and Brussels . He studied at the Ludwig Maximilians University and completed both state law exams. In addition to his work as a lawyer and after having been employed in various film production companies, he began producing his own feature films in 2001. He had his first successes with “ Sleeper ”, which was shown at the Cannes Film Festival in 2005 in the series “Un Certain Regard”, and “ The Robber ”, which ran in the 2010 Berlinale competition .

Peter Heilrath has two daughters.

Heilrath has been a member of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party since 2009 . Since 2015 he has been the spokesman for the Bavarian Foreign Policy Working Group of the Greens. On October 19, 2016, he was elected to the Bundestag candidate of the Greens for the constituency of Munich-South (constituency 219) for the 2017 federal election.

Memberships

Heilrath is a member of the German , Austrian and European film academies and the Munich Bar Association.
