Peter Hoch (musician)
Peter Hoch (* 1937 in Pirmasens ) is a German music teacher and composer .
Life
After his music teacher exams , Hoch studied composition at the Badische Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe and at the State University of Music in Saarbrücken , where he completed a master class for composition with Heinrich Konietzny . This was followed by studies with Henri Pousseur and Karlheinz Stockhausen in Cologne from 1964 to 1968 . After completing his studies, he was initially a freelance music teacher and composer, later a specialist music teacher in the Rhineland-Palatinate primary school service and instrumental teacher at the grammar school.
From 1974 to 2001 Peter Hoch was a lecturer and deputy director of the Federal Academy for Musical Education in Trossingen, with a focus on advanced training for music teachers and the teaching of new music . His music education work had an impact on his compositional work; numerous compositions were created for amateur ensembles and young people (e.g. for young people making music ). In addition to his work as a composer, Hoch also works intensively with painting and poetry .
From 2011 to 2015 Hoch was chairman of the Kunstverein e. V. Trossingen. He lives as a freelance composer in Trossingen.
