Peter Jensen (politician, 1890)

Peter Jensen (* the 30th January 1890 in Ausacker , Kreis Flensburg , † 31 March 1969 ) was a German politician of the CDU .

Life

Peter Jensen was the son of a farmer of the same name and his wife Margarethe Meßtorff (born December 29, 1867 in Neumünster ; † March 30, 1930). He had three sisters and two brothers.

After completing secondary school, Jensen completed an agricultural training and worked in his parents' business, which has existed since 1625. In 1922 he took over the farm from his father. Jensen was involved in association politics from 1919. From 1924 to 1933 he was deputy chairman of the federal state in Schleswig-Holstein . In July 1945 he was elected district farmer head for Flensburg-Land. From October 1945 to November 1947 he was the head of state farmers for Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg . Together with Friedrich Wilhelm Lübke , Jensen was one of the co-founders of the CDU Schleswig-Holstein . Both politicians had been a member of the board of the German Border Association since 1946 .

With the reintroduction of the Chambers of Agriculture Peter Jensen took over in November 1947, the Presidency of the Chamber of Agriculture Schleswig-Holstein.

MP

Jensen was a member of the first appointed state parliament (April 11 to November 11, 1946) in Schleswig-Holstein. From 1947 to 1967 he was elected MP for the constituency of Flensburg place of birth (1950: Flensburg-Land-east). In 1962 he was age president of the state parliament. The Landtag elected him a member of the third (July 1, 1959) and fourth (July 1, 1964) Federal Assembly , each of which elected Heinrich Lübke as Federal President .

Honors

Jensen was awarded the Grand Cross of Merit with the Star of the Federal Cross of Merit in 1969.
