Peter Keller (politician, 1906)

Peter Keller (born October 17, 1906 in Dieburg ; † November 1, 1985 ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and former member of the Hessian state parliament .

After elementary school, Peter Keller did an apprenticeship as a machine fitter and worked as a car fitter in New York from 1928 to 1929 . Until 1933 he was head of the Christian trade union cartel in Dieburg. After the National Socialists seized power , he was politically persecuted. His wife was murdered in Auschwitz concentration camp . 1945 to 1946 he was employed in the questionnaire department of the military government. Until 1947 he worked with short breaks at the Opel company before he was head of the district welfare office at the Dieburg district office from 1947. After the Second World War he was one of the founders of the CDU Hessen and was a member of the Hessian state parliament from February 5, 1949 to November 30, 1950.
