Peter Klein (athlete)

Peter Klein (born February 21, 1959 in Schötmar , Lemgo district ) is a former German athlete .

He was an Olympic participant who, starting for the Federal Republic at the 1982 European Championships, won the bronze medal with the German 4 x 100 meter relay. With the exception of the World Athletics Championships in 1983, Peter Klein was a participant in all World and European Championships and the Olympic Games from 1982 to 1990, but without further medal success.

Peter Klein belonged to the sports club SV Salamander Kornwestheim . When he competed, he was 1.76 m tall and weighed 75 kg.

• 1982: European Championships : 3rd place with the 4 x 100 meter relay (38.71 s: Christian Zirkelbach , Christian Haas , Peter Klein, Erwin Skamrahl ); 200-meter run : eliminated in the preliminary run

• 1986: European Championships , 4 x 100 meter relay: eliminated in the run-up

• 1988: Olympic Games : 6th place with the 4 x 100 meter relay (38.55 s)
• 1990: European Championships : eliminated in the 100 meter run; eliminated in the 200-meter intermediate run.
