Peter Konyegwachie (born November 26, 1965 in Lagos ) is a retired Nigerian boxer.
Career
The 1.61 m tall right-handed featherweight won the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane in 1982 and the Commonwealth Championships in Belfast in 1983 . At the 1982 World Championships in Munich , he was defeated in the preliminary round against Adolfo Horta from Cuba.
His greatest success came in 1984 at the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles , where he won the silver medal in the featherweight division. He defeated Ali Faki from Malawi (5-0), Rafael Zuñiga from Colombia (4-1), Charles Lubulwa from Uganda (5-0) and Turgut Aykaç from Turkey (5-0) before beating Meldrick in the final Taylor was eliminated from the USA (0: 5).
In November 1986 he turned professional and played 16 fights in Germany and Great Britain, of which he won 15. He ended his professional career in October 1990 after a tKo loss to Patrick Kamy.
